Study Tourism in Portugal: Application Guide, Fees, Deadlines & Visa Requirements

If you're an international student considering a career in tourism, Portugal's Schools of Tourism offer a comprehensive educational experience tailored to global applicants. Eligibility Criteria

The special application scheme is designed for candidates who:

• Are not Portuguese nationals.
• Are not nationals of a European Union member state.
• Have not resided in Portugal for more than two consecutive years.

Applicants must possess a qualification equivalent to Portuguese secondary education and demonstrate proficiency in the language in which the course is taught.

Application Process

Applications are submitted online, where candidates can select up to three course and school preferences. The required documents include:

• A valid identity document.
• A certificate equivalent to the Portuguese secondary school certificate, authenticated appropriately.
• A declaration confirming the applicant meets the International Student status requirements.

After document verification and payment, an online interview will be scheduled. Admission decisions are based solely on interview performance.

Visa Requirements

Admitted students must obtain a residence visa for study purposes from the Portuguese Consulate in their home country. The visa application, associated costs, and document procurement are the applicant's responsibility. The visa must be submitted by July 31, 2025.
